But most importantly, the new release includes many improvements to the tool, including numerous new features and bug fixes &#8211; we&#8217;ve improved all aspects of the tool, including user interface, claims\/specification proofreading, time-saving tools, and various downloading features, explained in more detail below.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Major overhaul of the user interface<\/h2>\n<p>ClaimMaster 2018 features a completely re-written and updated graphical user interface that removes obsolete ActiveX controls used for treeviews and tables in ClaimMaster, including a number of other improvements.\u00a0 The older, issue-prone controls have been replaced with new controls that are faster, more stable, and are also 64-bit capable (we plan a release of 64-bit Office compatible ClaimMaster in the next few months). This comprehensive GUI update, which took significant effort, should resolve various crashes after Microsoft Windows and Office security updates that have become more common lately, especially with the recent Office 2016 and Office 365 updates.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2>PAIR Improvements<\/h2>\n<p>a) <strong>Handling of DOCX Office Actions. <\/strong>As you know, the USPTO recently started making Office Actions available in DOCX format from Private PAIR. ClaimMaster keeps up with the latest developments &#8211; the Pair Downloading tool now downloads any DOCX files from Private Pair, if they are available:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-215 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/docx_pair.png\" alt=\"docx pair\" width=\"511\" height=\"119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/docx_pair.png 511w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/docx_pair-300x70.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 511px) 100vw, 511px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition, our Office Action analysis tool can now handle Office Actions in DOCX format directly, which significantly cuts down on the issues related to OCR quality.<\/p>\n<p>b) <strong>Major Improvements to Private PAIR Cache<\/strong>.\u00a0 We realize that logging-in to PAIR to retrieve various bibliographic information is quite tedious. If you use a separate docketing system that allows export of bibliographic data in CSV format\u00a0(e.g., Foundation IP), ClaimMaster can load this bibliographic information into the tool.\u00a0 Once the PAIR cache is loaded, all application bibliographic data will become immediately available for filling out headers in Word shells and various USPTO forms, including IDS forms.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-220 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/pair_cache.png\" alt=\"pair cache\" width=\"337\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/pair_cache.png 337w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/pair_cache-300x139.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 337px) 100vw, 337px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>c)<strong>\u00a0Retrieval of Assignment Data<\/strong>.\u00a0 ClaimMaster now allows you to download assignment information (in HTML format) either from Public or Private PAIR.\u00a0 To download assignment data for a given application number, select &#8220;<em>Collect assignment data for each document<\/em>&#8221; checkbox in Pair Download tool. The new version of ClaimMaster also includes several new download filters, such as &#8220;Latest Office Action&#8221; and &#8220;Latest Claims,&#8221; which allow you to pull only the most recent Office Action or pending claims from PAIR.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-211 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/download_settings.png\" alt=\"new pair download features\" width=\"646\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/download_settings.png 646w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/download_settings-300x94.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 646px) 100vw, 646px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>d)<b> Multiple\u00a0<\/b><strong>Private PAIR login profiles\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; in case you need to monitor Private PAIR for several different accounts, ClaimMaster now lets you to store Pair login credentials for multiple users.\u00a0 Rather than re-entering Pair login information for each user, all you need to do now is simply switch the user profile in Private PAIR settings:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-218 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/multiuserpair.png\" alt=\"multiuser pair credentials\" width=\"540\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/multiuserpair.png 540w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/multiuserpair-300x125.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>e) <strong>Patent Downloading based on Application Number<\/strong> &#8211; ClaimMaster now allows you download PDFs of issued patents or publications based on the USPTO application number. ClaimMaster will first use PAIR to resolve the application number to a patent\/publication number, and then download the PDF of that document, if it is available.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-221\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/usptopubs.png\" alt=\"download patent\" width=\"617\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/usptopubs.png 685w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/usptopubs-300x207.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>f)\u00a0<strong>Other PAIR Improvements.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>In addition to the features described above, we have significantly improved the stability of the PAIR crawling tool, especially for Public PAIR, which has been very slow lately.\u00a0 The improvements help both with file wrapper downloading and family tree generation using Public PAIR.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2>New Time-Saving Tools<\/h2>\n<p>a) <strong>New Amendment Manipulation Tools<\/strong> &#8211; ClaimMaster now lets you quickly accept\/reject amended text shown with underline, strike-through, or double-brackets in your documents. Simply select text in the document and then click on &#8220;Accept Amendments in the Selected Text&#8221; or &#8220;Reject Amendments in the Selected Text&#8221; features.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-222 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/amendments.png\" alt=\"accept or reject amendments\" width=\"439\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/amendments.png 439w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/amendments-300x133.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 439px) 100vw, 439px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>b) <strong>EFS-Web Split-up Tool.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>We&#8217;ve added a\u00a0feature that lets you split up applications into separate\u00a0 specification\/claims\/abstract files to streamline the EFS-Web upload process. The tool automatically detects specification, claims, and abstract sections in your Word application and generates 3 separate documents for EFS-Web upload.<\/p>\n<p>c)<strong> Post-Issuance Proofreading<\/strong>.
