Once the tool dialog comes up (shown below), you&#8217;ll have several predefined options for handling various amendment scenarios in your claims:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"511\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019-12-04_14-54-43.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-727\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019-12-04_14-54-43.png 511w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019-12-04_14-54-43-243x300.png 243w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 511px) 100vw, 511px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Generate a clean claim set without amendments or status indicators<\/strong> &#8211; this operation is useful, for example, when you want to generate a clean claim set from the existing Office Action response for the client or review.<\/li><li><strong>Accept previous amendments and update status indicators from the previously amended claim set &#8211;<\/strong> this is a helpful option if you want to insert the amended claim set from the previous Office Action response into the current response. <\/li><li><strong>Update status indicators in the current claim set based on the presence of existing amendments<\/strong> &#8211; this operation is useful to run when you&#8217;ve made edits to your claims and want to update your claim status indicators accordingly.<\/li><li><strong>Insert status indicators into a claim set that does not have status indicators<\/strong> &#8211; this option is helpful for adding indicators to the claims from the originally filed application (e.g., for the first Office Action response).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the predefined operations that normally would take care of the most common scenarios, you can also update amendments and indicators using more granular control in the <strong>Fully Configurable Operations<\/strong> section. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that, when performing the above operations, ClaimMaster will by default generate a new document and place the updated claim set there, but you also have an option to make the changes directly in the open Word document.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on this feature, please take a look at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/help\/Updateamendmentsindicators.html\" target=\"_blank\">Online Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-updating-amendments-indicators-in-the-selected-text\">Updating Amendments\/Indicators in the Selected Text<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, ClaimMaster provides several options for changing amendments in the selected text region within the Word document:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"769\" height=\"280\" src=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/amendments_text.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-970\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/amendments_text.png 769w, https:\/\/www.patentclaimmaster.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/amendments_text-300x109.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 769px) 100vw, 769px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, you can do the following operations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Accept Amendments in the Selected Text<\/strong> &#8211; similar to Word&#8217;s &#8220;Accept All Changes&#8221; for the Track Changes feature, this operation will accept all amendments  in the selected text region. Specifically, ClaimMaster will remove underlining from underlined additions and will remove stricken-through text from the claims.<\/li><li><strong>Reject Amendments in the Selected Text<\/strong> &#8211; this operation will reject all existing amendments in the selected text region.  Deletions will be kept, but new underlined amendments will be removed.<\/li><li><strong>Convert Track Changes To Amendment Formatting<\/strong> and <strong>Convert Amendment Formatting<\/strong> <strong>to Track Changes<\/strong> &#8211; these helpful features quickly convert all amendments in the select text region from Track Changes to the regular USPTO amendment formatting and vise versa.
