Manual biblio data import from Patent Center

ClaimMaster can help you quickly import bibliographic data from Patent Center's page for a given application. This is useful where automatic import is not available, such as when using Private mode in Patent Center, which requires 2-factor authentication. ClaimMaster lets you import biblio data from Patent Center's page for a given application #  in three different ways:

    1. Open the biblio page for the specified US patent application in your default browser, such as Chrome or Edge.  Click on the "Download" button at the top of that web page to start download of the XML file with bibliographic data for that application to your browser's default download folder (can be adjusted). Once the XML file download is complete, ClaimMaster will detect the file in the Downloads folder and extract bibliographic information from it.  Note: some data, such as examiner name, art unit, and customer # is not be available in the XML file provided by Patent Center. That data can only be extracted through direct page scraping (option 3).
    2. If you already have an XML biblio file previously downloaded from Patent Center stored on your computer, you can point ClaimMaster to that file to extract biblio data.  Note: some data, such as examiner name, art unit, and customer # is not be available in the XML file provided by Patent Center.  That data can only be extracted through direct page scraping (option 3).
    3. Directly select all biblio text Patent Center page, then right-click in the browser to select 'Copy' option, then paste the copied text into the special form field (item 5 below) using Ctrl+V or right-clicking and selecting 'Paste". ClaimMaster will automatically extract the biblio data from the pasted text.  Note: this is the only reliable way to extract all bibliographic data from the page, including examiner name, customer #, and art unit.
