Quick keyword rules for specification
Quick keyword rules for the Specification
ClaimMaster lets you quickly edit and add new rules for checking the Specification for the presence of specific keywords or phrases. You can quickly build up a list of keywords (e.g., "patent profanities"), especially if you need to perform different checks for different clients. Wildcards are also supported. Once you run the rules, they'll show up under the "Style Warnings" section of the error report.
The same "quick edit" option is also available using the Preferences->Patent Proofreading->Quick Edit (Configure Text Rules) button.
Getting Started
- From the ClaimMaster Ribbon, click on the Individual Proofing Tools menu, then select Check Document for Stylistic Issues/Patent Profanities ->Edit/Add Keyword Rules for the Document:
Feature Options
Once you select the feature above, the quick rule editor for the Specification will launch. The following operations are available in the quick rule editor:
- Use this dropdown menu to pick the existing rule to edit. Only simple rules that check for presence of keywords will be listed in the menu. Leave unused/at "Select existing rule" option if you are creating a brand new rule.
- Specifies the rule name. Fill in if you are creating a new rule.
- Specify a list of keywords/phases that will be searched in the claims. You can use wildcard * to find all variants of a particular word. Each new phase or keyword should start on a new line.
- Here you can edit/enter the warning message for each rule.
- Once you've completed editing or adding a new rule, click the "Save" button to have the rule saved.
