Adding paragraph numbers to the specification [+Drafting Option Only]

ClaimMaster lets you quickly add USPTO-compliant paragraph numbers in brackets (e.g, [0001], [0011], [0111], etc.)  to the open Word document. To add paragraph numbers, perform the following steps:

• From the ClaimMaster Ribbon, click on the Patent Drafting Tools menu, then select Add Paragraph Numbers to Specification:

Feature Options

Once you select the feature from the menu above, the claim conversion window will come up, with the following operations are available for this feature:

1. If checked, paragraph numbers will be bolded.
2. If checked, ClaimMaster will not add auto-numbered paragraph numbers to text lines that are configured as standard patent application headers, such as "Background", "Detailed Description", "Abstract", "Claims" and so on. A full list of predefined headers (and custom ones that can be added as well) is viewable here.
3. Press this button to insert paragraph numbers into the open Word document, based on the settings specified above. Paragraph numbers will be in the USPTO-compliant form, including brackets (e.g, [0001], [0011], [0111], etc.).
