IDS and Downloading Improvements in ClaimMaster 2024.5

The 2024.5 release of ClaimMaster adds several new features and improvements to our IDS tracking and generation and downloading tools.

Prior Art Groups for IDS Cross-Citation (+Shells subscribers)

We now added the capability to track prior art for IDS cross-citing for the related applications using “citation groups”. This feature is available for +Shell add-on subscribers. Each IDS citation group contains a list of IDS references for a set of applications that are genealogically or thematically related. Creating citations groups makes it easy to check and cross-cite prior art between groups or families of related applications and generate IDS forms for any uncited references.

ClaimMaster also makes it easy to quickly create and populate citation groups with items imported from native SB08 forms (now NPLs can be imported as well), directories, publications, patent families, file histories, Excel spreadsheets, or simply by cutting & paste of text.

Improved citations comparisons

We’ve also enhanced our IDS citation comparison tool. You can now compare lists of publications and NPLs across different citation groups (+Shells subscribers) or against other IDS forms, file histories, directories, patent pubs, cut & pasted text lists, etc. This way you can very quickly determine whether a particular reference has been cited in one set of IDS forms but not in other forms.

Other IDS and downloading tools improvements

The 2024.5 release of ClaimMaster also includes other improvements to IDS and downloading tools. For example, we’ve now implemented import of NPL references from native SB08 forms. We’ve also fixed issues with PDF downloading of older national publications, as this feature was affected by Espacenet switching its hosting to Cloudflare. To fix this issue, we are now able to pull image PDFs of national publications from another source.
