Using LLMs for Office Action Analysis (2026)

For +Drafting subscribers, ClaimMaster 2026 now integrates LLM analysis into our Office Action response tools (both Office Action Browser and Office Action Assistant tools). The latest models, such as OpenAI GPT-5 and especially Anthropic Claude do a fairly good job in analyzing Office Actions text and suggesting strategies for responding, so it makes sense to utilize these LLMs for analysis when brainstorming responses to difficult Office Actions.

LLM Office Action Analysis Tools

The new Office Action Response tools let you use the configured LLM to analyze the rejections in the USPTO Office Actions. You can also quickly attach the downloaded prior art and claims to have the LLM suggest arguments or amendments for overcoming the rejections.

Notably, after you get the response back from the LLM with the Office Action analysis, you can also continue the chat to refine or re-focus its answers. Once you are satisfied with the result, you you can right-click on the Questions & Answers window to insert the answer into the open Word document or into a new document. To the extent LLMs suggest amendments, ClaimMaster can incorporate them into the document in the standard USPTO amendment format (i.e., with underline and strikethrough).
