ClaimMaster includes patent application drafting tools that let you quickly renumber patent figures and associated parts in the Drawings. All associated part #s for the figures can be changed, as long as they begin with the same number as the figure (e.g., Figure 2 and associated parts 2XX). This operation will be helpful if you need to re-use a previous figure but with a different number, so you don’t have to change all the figure and part numbers in the drawing by hand.
To renumber patent figures and associated part numbers in the Specification, perform the following steps:
- Open the Figure Renumbering Tool
From the ClaimMaster tab, click on the Patent Drafting Tools menu, then click on Change Figure and Part Numbers in the Drawings:
- Load the figures into the tool
In the window that comes up, specify the location of the file that contains that drawings using selection button.
- Select a figure from the drawing file to renumber
Select one of the pages in the specified file. You’ll be able to renumber one figure at a time.
- Renumber one of the patent figures
Enter the new figure number and press the Renumber button. A new figure with adjusted figure and part numbers will be generated.
